Machine to Finely Shred Wood & Tree Branches

Shan 2025-06-25

Earlier this year, GEP ECOTECH's technical team visited a biomass processing facility in Southeast Asia to follow up on a GXB series fine shredder installed just over one years ago. This particular machine was configured for reducing tree branches, wood offcuts, and agricultural waste into uniform fine particles—an essential step in biomass fuel production.

We spoke with Mr. Surya, the plant manager overseeing daily operations.

“We run this shredder nearly every day—processing anything from fresh-cut branches and bark to harder, cured wood waste,” Surya said. “It gives us the exact particle size we need for drying and pelletizing. It's the backbone of our biomass preparation line.”

The GXB Biomass Fine Shredder is designed specifically for final-stage size reduction. It complements primary shredders by refining pre-crushed wood into uniform particles—typically between 10 mm and 50 mm—depending on the screen size installed.

At the core of the machine is a high-inertia rotor equipped with replaceable cutters, surrounded by a large perforated screen. Material is not discharged until it reaches the desired fineness, making this shredder ideal for applications where particle size consistency is critical.

Surya added,

“What I appreciate most is the reliability. It just works. And when we need to swap out a screen or blade, it's a quick task—no need for full disassembly.”

At GEP ECOTECH, we are proud to partner with clients globally—from wood recyclers to biomass power producers—to deliver custom-engineered shredding systems that balance precision, power, and environmental benefit.
