This article is compiled from an exclusive interview with Bertil, drawing on his firsthand experiences. The content has been refined for logical coherence without altering any key facts.
I'm Bertil, working for a Fortune 500 multinational energy engineering conglomerate with extensive experience in power plant construction. In early 2018, I took full charge of two 25MW biomass power plant projects in a Southeast Asian island nation. To this day, both units continue to operate efficiently, thanks in no small part to the biomass fuel pretreatment production line customized for us by GEP ECOTECH.

The project site boasts a thriving sugarcane industry, with an abundance of waste materials like sugarcane leaves and bagasse, creating ideal conditions for biomass power generation. Faced with a strained local power supply and a fragile grid infrastructure, we initiated these projects to transform agricultural waste into clean, green energy and spur local economic growth.

Admittedly, the project's inception was fraught with challenges. Despite engaging with multiple equipment suppliers and engaging in repeated plan discussions and quote comparisons, we found none satisfactory. Issues ranged from process layouts incompatible with on-site conditions to prohibitively high power consumption and future replacement costs for vulnerable parts. The absence of suitable process plans and equipment brought the project to a temporary standstill.
By chance, we discovered GEP ECOTECH through online research. After thorough discussions, we realized that GEP ECOTECH stood out from other manufacturers by eschewing standardized solutions in favor of tailor-made optimizations to meet our specific on-site needs. Addressing our core concerns, the GEP ECOTECH technical team meticulously reworked the production line process layout to seamlessly integrate with the power plant's material storage, transportation, and crushing operations. They also optimized the equipment's core structure, significantly reducing operational energy consumption and resolving our pressing issues of high power usage and losses—critical factors for the power plant's long-term operational costs. Furthermore, they customized the front-end material unpacking solution to handle both bundled sugarcane leaves and bulk materials, incorporating an intelligent control system to prevent material buildup and equipment idling, ensuring each unit's rated output of 40t/h was consistently achieved.

In late 2018, I led a team to inspect GEP ECOTECH's factory, where we witnessed their standardized production processes, rigorous processing techniques, and stringent quality control measures firsthand. Observing the double-shaft shredder's crushing test further allayed our concerns.
To ensure project efficiency, we convened a project kickoff meeting, where senior management and technical teams from both sides engaged in in-depth discussions, refined plans based on project drawings, finalized technical optimizations, and reached a comprehensive agreement on production line design, equipment manufacturing, on-site installation, and other aspects.
Throughout the equipment production phase, GEP ECOTECH maintained efficient and transparent communication, providing monthly updates on project progress, quality control procedures, and inspection records, fully aligning with our project management requirements.
When the project reached the critical installation and commissioning stage, the sudden pandemic outbreak disrupted cross-border personnel movement, complicating on-site construction. The GEP ECOTECH team promptly initiated remote technical guidance, overseeing equipment installation and commissioning online to ensure project completion. Their thoughtful gesture of sending us epidemic prevention supplies across borders during this challenging time deeply moved us, showcasing their sincerity and commitment.
Since commissioning, the intelligent crushing production line has operated stably, with discharge sizes meeting power generation and combustion standards. The entire process is energy-efficient, environmentally friendly, and boasts a remarkably low failure rate. Over the years, we have consistently procured parts and consumables from GEP ECOTECH, a testament to our enduring partnership built on their strength and service excellence.
From customized technological breakthroughs to end-to-end exclusive services, and even their warmth and perseverance during trying times, GEP ECOTECH's professionalism, reliability, and heartfelt dedication make them a standout choice worthy of repeated recommendation to my peers. While good equipment abounds, those genuinely willing to prioritize customer needs are a rare find.
