What Causes the Reduction of the Crushing Capacity of the Double-Shaft Shredder?

Shan 2021-12-17

The double-shaft shredder is very popular among users because of its low noise, low energy consumption, high output, and wide material applicability. But after using it for a period of time, we sometimes find that the crushing capacity of the twin-shaft shredder is significantly reduced. What is causing this? GEP ECOTECH summarized the following reasons that will reduce the crushing capacity of the twin-shaft shredder.

double shaft shredder

The hardness of the material

The harder the object, the more difficult it is to break, and the slower the speed, even if it is a dual-shaft shredder with extremely sharp blades. Moreover, the greater the hardness of the material, the greater the wear on the blades and other accessories, which intensifies the difficulty of crushing.

The humidity of the material

If the material contains too much water, the double-shaft shredder will easily adhere to the double-shaft shredder when it is crushed, which increases the resistance of the machine. The powder adhering inside the machine sometimes even blocks during the feeding and conveying process, which seriously affects the crushing ability of the double-shaft shredder.

The fineness of the material after crushing

The higher the fineness requirement, the greater the crushing workload of the double-shaft shredder, and the smaller its crushing capacity.

Composition of materials

During the working process of the double-shaft shredder, the fine powder is easy to adhere inside it, so the more the fine powder, the greater the impact on the crushing ability of the double-shaft shredder. That means that the more fine powder contained in the material before crushing, the more affected the crushing capacity of the twin-shaft shredder. The editor recommends that if the material contains too much fine powder, it is best to sift it before crushing.

The viscosity of the material

The greater the viscosity of the material, the easier it is for the powder to adhere inside the twin-shaft shredder, which will increase the resistance of the twin-shaft shredder during crushing, thereby affecting its crushing efficiency.

Wear resistance of broken parts (hammer head, jaw plate)

The better the wear resistance of the broken parts (hammer head, jaw plate) of the crushing equipment is, the greater the crushing capacity of the double-shaft shredder, and vice versa, the smaller the crushing capacity of the double-shaft shredder.

Through the above introduction, we know the reasons for the low crushing capacity of the double-shaft shredder, so how to improve the production efficiency of the double-shaft shredder equipment? It will be introduced in our next article, so stay tuned!
